The set opens with the ride. The red cogwheel railcars carry the railway's dragon on their sides, and each seats 46 on the way up a gradient of up to 48 per cent. On the Kriens side, the panorama gondola's four-seat cabins cross the forest, and the Dragon Ride's big red cabin swings up the last rock face above the lake.

Then the top. Pilatus Kulm's hotels sit on a narrow crest between the peaks, snowbound in winter and above a sea of cloud on an autumn morning. The Dragon Path, cut into the rock from the summit, opens onto the valleys through windows in the cliff.

The set ends with the light: fog lying over the lowland lakes with the ridges clear above it, a sunset from the summit, a paddle steamer on Lake Lucerne at dusk, and winter sledging on the Kriens side, which stays open when the cogwheel has stopped.
